African Studies in China

The Institute of African Studies at Zhejiang Normal University is the first institute for comprehensive African studies in Chinese higher education institutions. With a staff of 25 full-time personnel, its director, Liu Hongwu, hopes to make the Institute the primary location for studying Africa in China. It has 4 research centers: African Political and International Relations Studies, African Economic Studies, African Educational Studies and African Historical and Cultural Studies. Most of its research is published only in Chinese although a few items appear in English.
