The Washington Post ran on 7 July 2013 a story by Craig Whitlock titled "
Somali American Caught Up in a Shadowy Pentagon Counterpropaganda Campaign." The web site known as
United Somalia by the Somali-American reportedly contains material supportive of the al-Shabaab organization. A fellow Somali-American is quoted in the article as saying "The irony is that if he was in any country other than the U.S. right now, I don't think he'd survive."
