Four members (two Democrats and two Republicans) of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee introduced on 13 February 2024 a resolution recognizing the actions of the Rapid Support Forces and allied militias in the Darfur region of Sudan against non-Arab ethnic communities as acts of genocide.
