The South Asia Analysis Group, an Indian non-profit think tank, published on 12 February 2014 an analysis titled "
China's Unfolding Indian Ocean Strategy" by D.S. Rajan, director of the Chennai Centre for China Studies. The author concludes that geo-strategic trends suggest the three main powers in the Indian Ocean--India, China and the United States--have their own priorities, which may not be conducive to the establishment of regional peace and security.
