The Washington Times published on 31 March 2016 an article titled "
Al-Shabab Offers Somalis Security, Stability in Exchange for Shariah Law" by Tonny Onyulo. While an interesting account by someone who actually visited the al-Shabaab held town of Barawe, the article goes out of its way to highlight the positive aspects of al-Shabaab and minimize the negative.
