The Plight of Somali refugees in foreign cities
Refugees International recently published a brief report with recommendations concerning the rights of Somali refugees who have sought asylum in cities in nearby countries. Elizabeth Campbell and Patrick Duplat compiled the report dated June 16, 2010, and titled "Somali Refugees: Protecting Their Rights in Cities." They recommend a stronger advocacy role with host governments to ensure the implementation of basic human rights in urban areas and increased funding for programs that will assist these communities.
