Major General Moses Bisong Obi, force commander of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS), spoke at Chatham House in the UK on March 3.
He discussed the role UNMIS can play in helping South Sudan negotiate its path to independence, the measures needed to ensure a peaceful transition post-independence and the wider impacts of independence in South Sudan for regional security.
