We all hope that South Sudan becomes a successful new country while we appreciate that it faces many challenges.

Steven Costello published on 7 July, 2011 a sobering account of South Sudan’s future on the website of the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs.

He begins with the premise that “South Sudan’s biggest security concerns will be internal ethnic conflict.”
