The U.S. Institute of Peace issued in November 2011 a good report on the role of youth in state building in South Sudan.
It focuses particularly on the problems caused by rising dowry or bride price. The authors are Marc Sommers, a visiting researcher at Boston University’s African Studies Center, and Stephanie Schwartz, a doctoral student at Columbia.
