Getting Somalia Right

SOAS Radio recently ran the first part of a program titled "Getting Somalia Right" that consists of several persons discussing the issue. SOAS Radio is the on-line station based at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. You can access the broadcast here.

Presenter Robtel Pailey deconstructs and dissects Somalia as told by studio guests: Quman Jibril, a Somali independent research consultant who has a special interest in international refugee protection and advocacy; Mary Harper, BBC Africa Editor and author of Getting Somalia Wrong? published by Zed Books; and Mohamed Haji Ingiriis, a Somali researcher currently pursuing a Masters degree at the London Metropolitan University. There are also remarks by London-based Somalis and Laura Hammond, Somalia expert at SOAS. The featured musician is Somali artist Aarmanta.
