The Juba-based Sudd Institute, an independent research organization, provided a brief analysis on 13 November 2012 of the U.S. presidential election and its likely impact on South Sudan. Sudd Institute authors Augustino Ting Mayai and Jok Madut Jok quite properly pointed out there is growing concern in Washington over corruption in South Sudan, increasing human rights abuses, rising crime in urban centers, slow progress in security sector reform and increasing xenophobia against foreign workers.
