Ethiopian Government Choking Muslim Unrest

Inter Press Service published on 10 October 2013 a piece by Ed McKenna titled "Ethiopian Government Choking Muslim Unrest." It offers a cautionary tale on dealing with real and perceived challenges from the Muslim minority in Ethiopia, a community that according to the 2007 census constitutes about 35 percent of the population.  This issue has not been handled effectively in recent years; it is important that the government distinguish between a small number of real Muslim extremists in Ethiopia and the majority of protestors who believe they have legitimate grievances.
