The East African published on 24 December 2015 an article titled "Kenyans Prefer Stronger Ties with US than China" by Stellar Murumba.
A recent survey of public opinion in Kenya by the research firm Ipsos concluded that 41 percent of respondents preferred to work with the United States compared to 16 percent who preferred China. Supporters of Kenya's opposition political party strongly favored the US while supporters of Kenya's ruling party favored China.
