Half of Ethiopia's New Cabinet Is Female

The Washington Post published on 16 October 2018 an article titled "In Ethiopian Leader's New Cabinet, Half the Ministers Are Women" by Paul Schemm.

Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has reduced the size of Ethiopia's cabinet from 28 to 20 and given half of the ministerial positions to women, two of whom are Muslim. Abiy also named a woman to take control of the security ministry. This is an unprecedented development in Ethiopia's male-dominated society.
