Chinese Community in Mauritius

The South China Morning Post published on 24 November 2018 a story titled "The Chinese Who Helped Make Tiny Mauritius an African Success Story" by Hilary Clarke.

The article relates the background of the Sino-Mauritian community that dates back to the late 1600s. Today, it constitutes about two to three percent of the population but exercises far more influence in the business world. At the same time, many young Sino-Mauritians are leaving the island for better career prospects in places like Australia and Canada.
