Somali Soldiers Fighting in Tigray?

The National Interest published on 1 February 2021 an article titled "The U.S. Should Sanction Somalia's President for Human Trafficking" by Michael Rubin, American Enterprise Institute, a conservative American think tank.

The former deputy head of Somalia's National Intelligence and Security Agency recently claimed that over 370 Somali soldiers died while fighting alongside Ethiopian forces in Tigray Region, a charge denied by the Somali and Ethiopian governments.  The allegation justifies, however, an independent investigation.
