Aljazeera published on 26 May 2021 an article titled "Ethiopia's Tigray at 'Serious Risk' of Famine, Warns UN Official."
The UN Undersecretary General for Humanitarian Affairs says there is a serious risk of famine in Tigray Region if assistance is not scaled up in the next two months. Over 90 percent of the harvest was lost to looting and 80 percent of the livestock looted or slaughtered. Humanitarian operations continue to be attacked and obstructed.
