The New York Times published on 30 April 2021 an article titled "The Bureaucrat from Buffalo Who Pushed Somalia to the Brink" by Declan Walsh and Abdi Latif Dahir.
The former department of transportation official in Buffalo became president of Somalia but seems to have lost his support for democratic principles along the way.
