Reuters published on 22 February 2022 an article titled "China Appoints New Special Envoy for Turbulent Horn of Africa Region."
China has named Xue Bing, former Chinese ambassador to Papua New Guinea, as its first special envoy for the Horn of Africa.
Comment: Xue Bing has specialized in North American and Pacific Island affairs. His only African assignment was in Kenya from 2005 to 2008.
