Kenya's Presidential Election and China

 The Diplomat published on 25 August 2022 a commentary titled "What Kenya's Presidential Election Means for China's Belt and Road Initiative" by Erick Manga, consultant on international development, and Tristan Kenderdine, Future Risk.  

Kenya's rising debt burden is overshadowing its recent infrastructure projects built by China.  Following recent elections, President-elect William Ruto has promised to take far-reaching measures to address the debt situation.  This has important implications for China, which holds much of the debt.
