Namibia Exports Lithium to China

The Brief published on 22 September 2022 an article titled "Walvis Bay Port Facilitates Export of Lithium to China."

Namibia exported 25,000 tons of lithium ore to China with an additional 50,000 tons expected to be shipped later this month. Lithium is used in the production of ceramics, glass, and aluminum.  It has significant potential to replace cobalt in the manufacture of batteries for electric vehicles, a market that China hopes to dominate.
