The Associated Press published on 3 July 2023 an article titled "Sudan's Army Calls for Young People, Others, to Enlist in Fight Against Rival Paramilitary."
Sudan's Army called on all capable Sudanese to enlist at the nearest military command in the fight against the rival paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. It was not clear if this constituted forced military conscription.
