The Washington Post published on 11 March 2025 an article titled "Funding Freeze Leaves Fulbright and Study-abroad Scholars Stranded" by Olivia George.
The State Department froze funding for long-standing international exchange and study-abroad programs, including the famous Fulbright Program. Consequently, persons in these programs overseas are being stranded pending clarification of the funding. More than 7,400 people from around the world hosted by programs in the United States face the same dilemma.
