Interview with Bloomberg

I am interviewed in Jason McLure's article "Meles Unites 52 Nations to Exert Clout at UN Summit." Here are the quotes:
Meles is a serious negotiator, said David Shinn, former U.S. ambassador to Ethiopia from 1996-1999 and current adjunct professor of international affairs at George Washington University in Washington. “The guy is very smart, he doesn’t wing this stuff,” Shinn said in an interview. ...Search for African leaders in power long enough who have international credibility and technical knowledge of climate issues and “you come up with a very short list,” Shinn said of Meles last month.
