The death of Manute Bol
The death of Manute Bol not only marks the passing of a great basketball player but someone who brought attention to the issues of southern Sudan. Manute Bol selflessly contributed both his time and financial resources to improving the lives of southern Sudanese. It was my honor to have met him in this connection while serving in the U.S. Department of State.
