Conflicts in the Horn of Africa

The Nordiska Afrikainstitutet in Uppsala, Sweden, published in 2011 a comprehensive study by Kidane Mengisteab titled Critical Factors in the Horn of Africa's Raging Conflicts.

The study provides a broad overview of the causes, dynamics and ramifications of violent conflicts in those countries that comprise the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD). It pays particular attention to the conflicts in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Uganda and emphasizes the roots of conflict, their interconnectedness and their impact on the region and beyond.
