The South Asia Analysis Group, an Indian non-profit think tank, published on 12 February 2014 an analysis titled "China's Unfolding Indian Ocean Strategy" by D.S. Rajan, director of the Chennai Centre for China Studies. The author concludes that geo-strategic trends suggest the three main powers in the Indian Ocean--India, China and the United States--have their own priorities, which may not be conducive to the establishment of regional peace and security.
