The author argues that the recent Egyptian Economic Development Conference at Sharm el Sheikh shows that Egypt understands the urgency of accelerating engagement with sub-Saharan Africa. He cites expanding ties with Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Uganda.
