2016 Doing Business in Djibouti

The World Bank recently published its "Doing Business 2016 Economic Profile for Djibouti."  The report measures and tracks changes in regulations affecting 11 areas in the life cycle of a business:  starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, resolving insolvency, and labor market regulations.  The World Bank evaluated 189 countries.

On the overall ease of doing business, Djibouti ranked 171, a slight fall from 169 in 2015.  The regional average rank for Sub-Saharan Africa was 143.  By comparison, Ethiopia ranked 146 and Eritrea ranked 189.
