Somalia: Resurgence of Al-Shabaab

The Washington Post published on 10 April 2016 an article titled "Somalia's President Says Al-Qaeda-backed Rebels Are 'Resurgent'," by Kevin Sieff, the Post's bureau chief in Nairobi.  Somali President Hassan Sheik Mohamud noted that AMISOM and the Somali National Army have remained in the barracks while al-Shabaab fills the void in rural Somalia.
