The World Bank has published its global Doing Business ranking for 2017 and its report on Eritrea. This annual survey is based on the following ten factors: starting a business, dealing with construction permits, getting electricity, registering property, getting credit, protecting minority investors, paying taxes, trading across borders, enforcing contracts, and resolving insolvency. It then provides an overall score for these factors.
Out of 190 economies surveyed for 2017, Eritrea scored number 189 on the overall ease of doing business, the same score as in 2016. This compares with a score of 186 for South Sudan and 190 for Somalia.
