Foreign Policy published on 7 August 2018 an article titled "Somalia Is a Country Without an Army" by Amanda Sperber, a journalist based in Nairobi and Mogadishu.
This is one of the most negative accounts I have seen during the past year on the situation in Somalia. The author argues that the Somali army is non-functional and the UN force is unable to resolve Somalia's political differences.
