World Politics Review published on 20 December 2019 a commentary titled "Sudan Needs Much More Than Upgraded U.S. Ties to Rebuild Itself after Bashir" by Richard Downie, Center for Strategic and International Studies.
The author argues that Sudan cannot succeed without robust and sustained assistance from the international community. The decision by the United States to upgrade its embassy from a charge d'affaires to an ambassador, while a positive development, will make little difference in the ability of Sudan to move forward.
