The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued on 21 May 2021 a statement "on the unfair and unwarranted accusations levelled against Ethiopia."
The statement covered Ethiopia's humanitarian response in Tigray Region, allegations of human rights abuses, calls for a cease fire and national dialogue, elections, dissent, and freedom of speech.
