The Washington Post published on 2 July 2021 an article titled "Unable to Control Tigray, Ethiopia Isolates Region Already Beset by Famine and War" by Max Bearak.
The article suggests that because the central government's military effort in Tigray Region faltered, it declared a cease fire, pulled troops out of Tigray, and is trying to isolate the region as punishment.
