Refugees International published on 1 July 2021 a policy brief titled "The Cruelest of Fates: Famine in the Time of War in Tigray" by Sarah Miller, David Del Conte, and Hardin Lang.
Famine is happening today in Tigray. An estimated 5.2 million people now need food assistance. More than 400 international UN and 1,000 NGO staff now operate in Tigray Region.
