The BBC posted on 5 September 2021 an article titled "Ethiopia's Tigray Conflict: Thousands Reported Killed in Clashes."
Both the Tigrayan forces and central government forces claimed they had killed thousands of soldiers on the other side. There was no way to verify the numbers and even the timeframe of the deaths was unclear.
