The civil war in Ethiopia is also having a devastating impact on the Ethiopian diaspora in the United States. Much of the hostility is playing out on the streets of Washington where mostly Tigrayans find themselves pitted against many non-Tigrayans. The Washington area has a large resident Ethiopian diaspora and attracts many others from further away when demonstrations are organized.
