Aljazeera published on 31 October 2021 an article titled "Tigrayan Forces Claim to Capture New Town of Kombolcha."
The TPLF says it has captured Kombolcha, the deepest it has penetrated into Amhara Region. The industrial town is about 235 miles from Addis Ababa on one of the main roads leading to the capital. Government forces said the battle for Kombolcha is continuing.
