Following Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi's warm visit to Addis Ababa in early December, Egyptian officials rushed to criticize the visit, arguing it could have a negative effect on the Ethiopian-Egyptian conflict over the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
