The Moroccan Institute for Policy Analysis published on 23 May 2022 a study titled "China's Digital Silk Road in Morocco: The Implications of Digital Sector Dominance" by Bryce F. Neary, Seattle Journal of Technology, Environmental, and Innovation Law.
While Morocco expands its digital engagement with China by purchasing Chinese equipment and seeking Chinese funding for projects, it is also concerned about cyber security and digital independence.
