The Washington Post published on 2 May 2023 an article titled "800,000 Refugees Could Flee Sudan, Triggering Regional Crisis, U.N. Warns" by Niha Masih, Katharine Houreld, and Rachel Chason.
More than 100,000 people have fled Sudan for neighboring countries and just under 350,000 have been internally displaced since conflict broke out on 15 April. The UN refugee agency believes more than 800,000 could flee Sudan if fighting continues, resulting in a massive refugee crisis.
