Sudanese women witnessed an opening of possibilities when Omar al-Bashir fell from power in 2018. But it ended in 2021 with the military coup, a declaration of a state-of-emergency, and then the war between the Sudan Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
