Agence France Press published on 25 February 2024 an article titled "Sudan Authorities Block Cross-Border Aid to Stricken Darfur."
UN relief efforts for Sudan's Darfur region can only occur over the border from neighboring Chad. But the Sudan Armed Forces has now blocked assistance from Chad that aids communities in areas controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. The US and the UN have strongly objected to this decision.
