The Economist posted on 3 September 2026 an article titled "Ethiopia's Undeclared Drone War."
Beginning in late August, the federal government of Ethiopia launched an air war using drones and aircraft against the Tigray People's Liberation Front in Tigray Region. Neither side seems interested in peace talks, although a ground war appears unlikely.
