Ethiopia Sets Impressive Carbon Reduction Target
The Lancet published on 4 July 2015 an article titled "Ethiopia Sets Impressive Carbon Reduction Target" by Sharmila Devi. Health experts say Ethiopia's plan to slash carbon emissions by two-thirds in the next 15 years would have a substantial, positive impact on health in the country.

South Sudan: Oil and the Environment
The Juba-based Sudd Institute published on 21 April 2015 a study titled "Understanding the Enforcement of Environmental Provisions of Petroleum Act 2012 and Why Environmental Ruin Continues" by Nhial Tiitmamer, research and training officer at The Sudd Institute.
The paper evaluates the extent to which the environmental provisions of the South Sudanese Petroleum Act of 2012 has been enforced. It concludes they have not been implemented as expected.
