Palgrave Communications recently published a study titled "The Tapestry of Chinese Capital in the Global South" by Ho-fung Hung, John Hopkins University.
Most Chinese outward investment to developing regions is in the extractive, infrastructure, and trade sectors. While Africa is a major recipient of China's aid, it receives relatively little of its foreign direct investment.
