Yejoo Kim, research analyst at the Centre for Chinese Studies at Stellenbosch University, wrote a brief commentary 20 August 2012 on Chinese investment in Zambia and its impact on human rights.
She concluded that Chinese investment has played a significant role in Zambia in terms of economic growth and job creation, but the local population's antagonistic attitude towards Chinese investment is damaging Chinese interests.
