Taiwan in Africa

Much has been written in recent years about the role of China in Africa.  Very little has been said about the role of Taiwan, which has official diplomatic relations with four African countries.  Good Governance Africa recently published an analysis titled "The Other China in Africa" which serves as a reminder that Taiwan is still active in Africa.  Africa constitutes only about 2 percent of Taiwan's global trade while it constitutes about 4 percent of China's total trade.  Taiwan's global trade is, of course, much lower than that of China.
