Jok Madut Jok, executive director of South Sudan's The Sudd Institute, published an analysis on 9 March 2013 titled "South Sudan: A Politics of Demise or a Vision for Progress?"
He noted that South Sudan has made significant progress on establishing governmental institutions, reforming the military, structuring the public service, and improving healthcare and education.
